David E. Swenson
President
Retired from a 35-year career at 3M company dealing with products and materials used in the control of static electricity. Twenty-five years of his career involved application engineering of the 3M products. This experience provided his deep background in the study of electrostatics. After retiring in 2003, Mr. Swenson and his wife Geraldine formed Affinity Static Control Consulting, L.L.C. (Affinity). Affinity specializes in providing up to date industry advice, historical insight and practical assistance in solving problems related to electrostatics across all industries. Customized training programs and test method development for evaluating new materials are innovative offerings.

Decades of Experience
Mr. Swenson has been member of the ESD Association since 1984 and has served in many capacities. Positions included General Chair of the 1997 Symposium, elected Board of Directors member from 1992 through 1997, Association Sr. Vice President for 1996 and 1997, and President of the Association for 1998 and 1999. He was reelected to the Board of Directors for a third term, running through 2008. He was elected President in 2007 and 2008. He is a founding and current member of the Standards Committee, serving as a member of numerous working groups including the ANSI/ESD S20.20 Task Team.

David has extensive experience in ESD training, factory surveys and auditing. He has completed ISO 9000 Lead Assessor training and is an ESD Association Certified ESD Control Program Manager. As a member of the ESD Association Standards Committee Task Group for S 20.20, David is eminently qualified and uniquely experienced in providing pre-assessment auditing services for clients interested in certification to ANSI/ESD S20.20. David is a NARTE Certified ESD Engineer and an ESD Association Certified Instructor.
Affinity Static Control Consulting, L.L.C., specializes in pre-assessment for ANSI/ESD S 20.20, including: program plan preparation process monitoring, 3rd party audits, and follow-up certification.
